Extending the Lighthouse Trail
Malpica to A Coruna
After completing the fantastic but challenging Lighthouse Way in 2023, I took a bus from Malpica, the end/start of the trail to A Coruna.
A year later, I walked from Santander to A Coruna, walking along the Camino del Notre to Ribadeo and the equally fabulous Ruta del Cantabrico to Ferrol and A Coruna. I ended at the airport.
Therefore, my plan was to walk from Malpica to A Coruna airport, joining the two earlier walks.
This is a highly recommended extension to the Lighthouse Way or to join the Cantabrico/Camino Ingles and the Lighthouse Way.
It really is a beautiful walk, pretty much in the middle of nowhere, beautiful countryside, great views, 90 kilometers and 2.500m elevation. A very pleasant trip.
